Are you a know-it-all marketer?
Are You a Know-It-All Marketer?
I overhead an interesting conversation in one of the masterminds I was in a couple of days ago. I think you are going to get a lot of value from this, especially if you are struggling in your business right now.
One of the mastermind participants held a webinar, teaching how to build a business on Social Media.
A lady came to the webinar and only stayed about ten minutes. The mastermind participant followed up with her later and he asked if she had finished the webinar. She admitted to jumping off after ten minutes. He asked her, “Why did you do that?”
She said, “I got there and you were covering Social Media, and I already know all that stuff, so I didn’t feel like I needed to stay on the webinar. I’ve already heard all that stuff before.”
The webinar an hour long and she was only there for ten minutes. How did she know she had already heard it all? That is the first problem.
The second problem is that she said she already knew all about it, and then he asked her the follow up question: “Wow! You must have a thriving Social Media business, then?”
She said, “No, actually, I don’t.”
Are You a Know-It-All Marketer?
The lesson you want to get out of this: You want to look at the results you have now versus what you think you already know. If you think you know it all and you don’t have success in your business, then you don’t know it all and have room for improvement.
“It's what you learn after you know it all that counts.”
— John Wooden (American basketball player and coach)
