We were at the park, playing with our kids. I received an email notification on my phone. It was from the initials, “D.B.”
I don’t know about you, but when I see an email from initials, I think, “Who the heck is this person?”
Everyone is so focused on creating the perfect email subject line. I’ll tell you right now, if they don’t know who you are, it doesn't matter. “From” is the very first thing people look at.
This is a huge tip when it comes to email open rates. People need to know who you are when you are sending an email!
Email Open Rates – Brand Your Name
I personally believe you should brand your name because this is the first thing people see. Then, the second thing they see is the subject line, so the subject line is also important.
I believe you should show up and brand your name in every aspect of your business. For example, in your voice mail you shouldn’t just have a bunch of music start playing or just say, “Hey, leave a message.”
People want to know who you are. They don’t want to just call some random person or get emails from random people.
The lesson today: Brand your name so that people know who you are. Don’t use your initials. If I sent you an email and signed it, “M.H.,” would you know who it was from? Maybe you call and my voice mail says, “Hey, leave a message.” Would you know you had called the right person?
Set yourself up for success in your business. Brand your name. Let everybody know who you are. Improve your email open rates by using your name in your emails, in your voice mails and in everything you do in your business. Set yourself up the correct way!
