Fitness Gym or Online Business
In 2011 I got deployed to Iraq and began working out with a buddy. We had this idea that we wanted to come home and start a cool gym and do some personal training.
When I got home, I had to choose fitness gym or online business. We started an online business. We had an online business previous to Iraq and we re-started it. We have made a lot of money since then – six figures plus.
I saw an article the other day and it made me curious… what if I would have gone the off-line franchise route? I wanted to compare it to the online franchise model that we are using now.
As I explored the question, fitness gym or online business… there are two main points in the article that I want to share.
First, the article addressed the success rate of a small business loan over a period of ten years. They took a lot of data from small business loans that defaulted.
The number one franchise was Planet Fitness. Out of all the SBA loans that happened over that ten year period, 0% failed. Anytime Fitness had a 7.3% failure rate. Snap Fitness had 11.2% failure rate.
Those were interesting statistics to me, so I looked a little more closely. Why would some fail the other not?
Planet Fitness costs $1.3 Million dollars for a franchise. A Snap Fitness franchise is $361,000.00, and an Anytime Fitness franchise is $354,000.00
Why did the franchise that cost $1.3 Million succeed over the ones that were only $350,000.00? It costs ten times the amount, yet it has a better success rate. You would think that the higher loan amount would have greater default rate.
Hmmm, interesting…
I believe it is because the owner has more skin in the game. The person that invests $1.3 Million is more motivated, working the business and wanting it to succeed.
Another part of that success would be the system. I noticed that Planet Fitness has a very low entry point to become a member. In the world of fitness, that is huge. Then, there are up-sells once they get you in the door in the form of supplements, tanning, massage chairs.
The second point was a quote from Don Sniegowski, BlueMauMau’s founder: “Another thing to consider when searching for a franchise is if there are company owned units. They need to have skin in the game. If they don’t, they are removed from that end customer.”

The fitness gym or online business evaluation continues…
In our online business, it works the same way. We have the best online business, in my opinion.
We are involved with a company that has a business model with a low entry point as well, at $25. Then, we have up-sells on higher end products all the way up to $5,000.00. The beautiful thing about it is that it doesn’t cost $1.3 Million. It is $5,000 at the most in our company.
Imagine how many customers you would need to pay off $1.3 Million Dollars at $20 per month. In our online business, you only need one customer. Imagine having your own Planet Fitness franchise. You bring in your first customer and he pays you $1.3 Million Dollars. That is the kind of value you have with our online business.
With our online business, you come in at $5,000 (or at $25 to start and work your way up). With your first sale, you are paid back and the next sale and beyond you are 100% in profit. You can literally be in profit from day one.
You can’t say that about off-line franchises. In fact, it would take you years to pay off the most successful franchise at $1.3 Million.
Based on what I've told you so far, would you choose fitness gym or online business? The online business that we recommend, is a very different model.
The owner of our company has skin in the game. He owns his own affiliate position underneath the company and he is the number one income earner in the entire company. He knows what the customer needs. He knows what the representatives need. He knows what the field needs to be successful.
Fitness gym or online business? We have duplicated the franchise model online. I truly believe this is bigger and better than anything else out there. I’ve never seen anything like it in my life. The products are phenomenal. The company owner is here for you. The only thing holding you back is your decision to take action.
