The going through the grind concept can literally make or break you in your business.
There is a lot of automation out there – systems and training that teach you that you shouldn’t use the phone or do three-way calls. I agree… when you are building a business long-term, you shouldn’t be a slave to the phone and do home meetings for your entire career in that business. You will be selling the dream and living the nightmare.
For those just starting out, it is important that they understand that going through the grind is required. There is a higher level training available called “The Master's Course.” This $3500 training literally teaches you about going through the grind. Everybody has to go through the grind in the very beginning. This concept is not usually discussed outside The Master's Course.

Launch Your Business with a Strategy
When you are first getting started, you have got to do whatever it takes. I remember getting a leads list of thousands of people. I started picking up the phone and calling people. I had an A-type personality on the other end of the line interrupting my every word and I got so mad. I hung up the phone and realized that I am not a phone prospector- that is just not me.
So, I took my creativity and went to My Space and Facebook and started chatting with people. I sent instant messages and e-mails designed to get to know these people better. I walked them through the process by finding out what their needs were and offering them a solution. I started making sales. It was a lot of manual work.
You look at me, and see all this automation and realize that I don’t have to spend a lot of time on the computer any more. Don’t forget, when I started, I was going through the grind! Instead of phone prospecting, I instant messaged. This strategy was a lot easier for me because I didn’t get interrupted; we simply took our turn instant messaging and chatting back and forth. I contacted my current team, past team, and up line in other companies, all through instant messaging. Once in a while, I even got on the phone with people I was comfortable visiting with.

Do Whatever It Takes
The bottom line is, when you are first getting started, do whatever it takes. Even if that means getting on the phone with your past team, past up line, or people that you believe would do well in this business.
When David Wood and David Sharpe launched Empower Network, they began by picking up the phone or meeting in person with the leaders and people they wanted to join their business.
If you are launching your business, you do whatever it takes to launch the business. Eventually, you get to the point that you can put down the phone and pick up the pay check. Unless you actually get out there and do the work first… you can’t put the phone down if it isn’t picked up!
I am not saying you have to use the phone… my strategy was instant messaging. I am more automated today, to free up my lifestyle. I am living the dream instead of living the nightmare.
I hope that you take this seriously. Launch your business! Those already in your circle of influence should be your first recruits. Once you are making money, put automation into place.
