Is the New MLM of the Month the Solution for Duplication?
I’ve had this thought the last couple of weeks…
I have been watching programs go out of business. I have been watching people change directions. This is not a big deal, people are free to choose whatever they want to do and free to build whatever programs they want to build online. That is the purpose of freedom, right?
Here is what kind of gets on my nerves a little bit…
There are a few excuses people use when they are quitting a company or going somewhere else. I’ve actually been guilty of this. I’ve used some of these excuses myself.
In the very beginning I would join a company. I wouldn’t make any money and I would blame the company or comp plan and I would jump to the next thing.
Another excuse is when I got to a good level of income in a company, but then my team wasn’t making any money. Have you ever experienced that before? Then you start thinking… “Well, this is not easy for them, this is not duplicable. This isn’t something that everybody can do.” I have used this excuse before to jump to a new program that was “easier.”
People are looking for the “easy button.”
I remember a bunch of people exited a company I was in for an eBay thing, because anyone can post on eBay, right? Then, people start failing in that too! It is a crazy phenomenon.
Then there was a binary thing that came out. Oh, wait! Now you don’t have to recruit anyone, you can just invest in these binary things. Then, people would fail there, too!
Is the New MLM of the Month the Solution for Duplication?
I’m going to give you a quick pointer that you should think about.
People are going to fail in no matter what they do. It is just what people do.
Here are a couple of quotes:
“Don’t wish it was easier. Wish you were better.” – Jim Rohn
I heard my buddy Paul share a quote the other day. I’m not sure where it came from originally:
“You can’t expect to lift people up by lowering yourself to their level.”
Think about this: You are in a program and it is great, it pays great commissions, it has great community, you have a great mentor with a great vision. If you are making a bunch of money and you team is not making money, by looking for an easier route, an easier program, you are wishing it were easier instead of wishing that you were better, and you are lowering yourself to the average person’s level.
Here is the solution: lift people up! Make people better!
If you team is not succeeding, what can you do to help them? What can you do to raise the vibration up? What can you do to help them become a better entrepreneur, sell more, become a leader, do videos, market on the internet?
Help them succeed! If you focus on that, you will start to see people succeed. If you try to lower yourself to their level or look for the easy button, they are still going to fail.
There is a certain percentage of people that are still going to fail, but if you focus on helping people get better you will see people break through. You will see people make money, and that is really where you want to focus.

I hope you'll be here Mike, for many years helping people with Empower Network. You are the spirit and the backbone of many people daily. Even when you do not know these people. Continue with that tenacity and consistency my friend. Thank you for your persistence. Best year for all of us inside Prosperity and Empower.
Great post!
Hi Mike, great points. There really isn't something easier. I too have been guilty of this. No program or business is 'easier' than another. It's just a myth that we tell ourselves so that we don't have to actually look into the real problem. It can be uncomfortable to do this because then we have to look at ourselves for a problem. Until we fix the problems that lie 'inside' us, we will not be able to find success in any opportunity.
Great message Mike! Thank you!
Great post, Mike. The other thing I've seen is "leaders" jumping into an opportunity that's great for them, but not for their teams. Occasionally, they even get signing bonuses, which is illegal unless it's properly disclosed.
Ya that is also a bad excuse! haha
Ya I ran around looking for the easy one over and over till I realized I had to learn some skills! Then I started making good money! Go figure!
I will be! As long as Empower exists I'll be here! I have too much trust in David Wood's vision to leave!
Thanks Mike!
Thanks Ken McCall!
I fully resonate with your message, Mike. The main tip I can take with me today is to take full responsibility of the situation I'm in – whether it's about business or life in general. I think seeing you at the cause is more important than seeing you at the effect side. Thanks a lot for sharing this valuable info. Have an amazing day!
First of all GREAT POST Mike. You really know what you say and I just want to say THANK YOU FOR WHAT YOU SHARE.
On the other side…
It's pretty interesting for me that today I wrote a blog post about similar topic 😉 (synchronicity?) because my opinion about jumping from deal to deal or trying to find something 'easier' to do is very similar.
Yes, I have to admit that I also tried to find 'easy' way to make money for some time but the other day I just had to make a decision and start doing this business "the right way" and not my way.
In other words, one of the biggest 'secrets' to build business, is to choose company and people with who we want to build this business and just stick to it.
It's about making decision and never changing it even if 'the best ever mlm company' just launched 😉
Ya that reminds me of a great point… It's not really the product or comp plan that matters when joining a business… It's the PEOPLE you work with that really matters!
Find a mentor or group of people you want to work with in a company that has a BIG vision and you will enjoy building the business long term!
The company can be the BEST, but without good leadership, training & community you will be miserable! (Unless of course you start the great community)
It's soo much better when the company it self also has great mentors and community on top of your own! That is the perfect situation!
Mike Hobbs Agree 🙂
Awesome as always! Thanks for the value!
Wonderful Info and sooooo True…
Mike Hobbs – I agree with you Mike!
Before EN, I had been to so many seminars / workshops etc for this industry and for my profession (Real Estate) and NEVER in all the seminars that I have been to, had I felt such a close knit family community like I do with EN. I bonded with so many people / mentors who I had never met before (including yourself), and feel a great appreciation for being in a community who are all rooting for each other and willing to help each other, rather than just themselves…
Thank you Mike for being the mentor and inspiration that you are… and Thanks to Woodsie, (my nickname for DW – LOL) for creating a fabulous community…
Hi Mike – Great video with Great points… It's true too many people just want the "easy" button in life and are not prepared to work and hustle to get what they are truly after in life… Either they are constantly looking for the easy way out, or they become complacent and comfortable in a J.O.B. Why not put some work / hustle & sacrifice in now – to enjoy the relaxed / stress-free life in the not so distant future…. hmmm (just a thought….)
Sounds great to me!
Thanks Sally!
No Problem Brad!
Aisha Williams I agree… Dave has created something special.. Its sad that some people dont see it! In fact I have never been in a company longer than 1 year before EN… Going on 3 years now!
Thanks Dragos!
Awesome post Mike Hobbs, I was guilty of this also. After joining Empower Network I realized it is the skills I needed to learn to make the money.
Awesome post Mike. We see this so many times online, as soon as another program is launched these "so called" leaders can't wait to get them and their team into something new, Instead of building their existing team to success, they are continually onto the "next big thing"..
Great that you had the courage to bring up the "Elephant" currently in this industry. However…there is an intrinsic feeling in me that affiliate programs still can be easier than they are…if I am totally honest about things. My desire is that there will come a day when there is no need for complementary programs. If you are in two deals it's really like being in 4 deals…what's That all about????
