I want to talk about how important it is to live in the now.
I was having dinner the other day with my wife and my kids.
Then, I got a text on my cell phone…
I don’t pick up phone calls any more. My voice mail screens my phone calls. However, my text and email and the internet is still on my phone.
I looked at the text. Then I realized I have email, then I went to my Facebook…
All of a sudden, I find myself lost on my phone while we have having a family night out together.
My family is having a conversation, and I’m on my phone!
Live in The Now
I realized that I needed to live in the now.
How many times have you been working on a marketing piece or a video…
And you get distracted by an email, text message or phone call?
When you sit down and think about it, it probably happens a lot.
I am not perfect at this, and I am striving to be better. If I am out with my family and we are having a conversation, I don’t listen to anything else.
Turn off the distractions, focus, and live in the now.
Live in The Now
When you are doing a marketing piece or placing a solo ad…
Turn off Skype, log out of your email and social networks and put your phone on silent. Focus on whatever you are doing at the time.
You will live more happily. You will be more aware of what is going on. You will have more fun!
I noticed when I put the distractions away, I had more fun with my family as I played with and got involved with what they were doing.
Live in the now and make it a great day.
