Today I want to address the question, “Should you fake it until you make it?” This statement has some truth, but it also has a lot of non-truth. Let me explain. I think the meaning behind the statement was, “Act like you already have the success before you have it.”

Some people have taken this to a literal extreme by financing cars and homes. These people go deep into debt pretending to be wealthy. Others create a system, put up fancy websites and create videos that promote fake income claims. Deceiving people is not what the “Fake It Til You Make It” statement meant. This method of operation will eventually catch up with these people when their home is foreclosed on. Should you fake it until you make it? The answer is no, not when it applies to lying.

Used Correctly…
If you are having a bad day and being negative, then you need to be positive. Sometimes you have to lift yourself up in the eyes of the public. For example, when you are having a bad day and you share that bad day on your Facebook wall, you are sending out negativity. Negative attraction is not going to help your business at all. When you are first getting started, your attitude is something you need to control.
Think of the way an actor can think of something that made them feel happy, powerful or strong. They think of it, and then they act that way. Our minds are powerful. Should you fake it until you make it? The answer is yes, as it applies to your mindset.

Do not fake your income. You can act successful and be a leader, inside. When I first started out, I was very passionate about what I was doing. When I talked about the business, no one asked me how much money I made. I wasn’t lying about my money, but because I was being a leader and was passionate and confident, people naturally wanted to do business with me.
Fortunately, for those coming into the industry today, there are systems available that have proof of income. There are leaders with success stories that everyone can leverage. There is no reason to lie and deceive. Plug into a system that has success, then once you have your own success, you can start branding yourself as a person that is making a lot of money.
