Why is money important? This could be the biggest reality check that you can go through.
Why is Money Important?
There are a lot of people out there, whether they are building a business or working a job; they are just getting by through life and not ever doing a reality check on themselves. Why is money important?
I was on a hangout recently and a guy named Tony shared that if you are at the age of 26 and you don’t have $10,000 in your checking account – that is not normal. While it is common in our current economy… it is not normal.
Tony went on to say that if you are at the age of 40 and you don’t have $100,000 in your checking account, liquid money; then that is also not normal.
Why would Tony say this?
If you don’t have that kind of money at the age of 40 and you have been working over 20 years of your life and you don’t have $100,000 saved up, then you are not on track for retirement. You are going to work the rest of your life.
That is a reality check!
Imagine if you are 60. You should have a million dollars in your bank account, probably more. Why is money important? If you have ever run your financial numbers, you know that you need at least a million to three million dollars to have a decent retirement.
Find out where you are at. Do a reality check. What does your bank account look like? If you are not at least at $100,000 at the age of 40, then you have to change.
Something has to change, whether it is your career choice or maybe your belief about money.
Why is Money Important?
There are a lot of people out there that have this negative belief about money. I talk to people that say, “I am fine with just getting by. Money is not that important to me. God and family is more important.”
When someone says money is not important, and then you look at their life and they have two jobs working eight hours a day at one job and four hours a day at the other job… They work a total of twelve to sixteen hours a day just to provide for their family, just to “get by?” These people are spending 16 hours a day away from their family and home just to pay for their mortgage and needs.
When I look at that lifestyle, it tells me that money is important.
Why is money important? Anyone that is willing to work away from their family and their spiritual live and slave away at a job for sixteen hours a day… for what? For money! How is money not important?
A lot of people slave away at a job for 12 to 16 hours a day for money.
People have this little negative belief about money in the back of their minds. I don’t care who you are or what you are doing, money is important.
I believe having a home based business is the best way to go. I work about four hours a day. I went from twelve hours a day at a job to four hours a day working from home. Now I can spend more time with my family. Today we are at the park with our family and I am taking a few minutes to shoot a quick video.
This lifestyle is telling me that not only is money important, my family and my faith are important also.
Money is important!
Just imagine if you told your friends or family that they are not important. Would they really want to stick around you? Have a reality check. Why is money important? If you don’t think money is important, it isn’t going to stick around you either.
I have a home based business. Whoever sent you to this video has a home based business. We want to help you. We want to serve you and help you break past any negative beliefs about money.

Super Job Mike N Christy Hobbs you hit the nail right on the head. Money is not EVIL, we all need it to survive. The ways to make money have changed, a JOB is not the only way….
Excellent video! My take away is that money gives you freedom to enjoy the things most important in life…family, spirituality, service, etc. That is as long as you aren't slaving away day after day to "get by". It's not about the money, it's the opportunities that having money provides. So really money is the most important thing if you want to be able to place priority on anything other than your JOB.
My no. 1 takeaway from Mike's poignant video message is that people will live on in their poverty mindset before admitting struggle to make ends meet, and to a point of putting aside their own dreams for creating the life they desire. These people are accepting and/or ignorant of the fact that their time invested in receiving the crumbs they receive as willing participants in the workforce, is contrary to what their masters realize about "money being important", or else they wouldn't have created jobs for others who are willing to serve their purpose. Anyone who is accepting of a mindset of poverty and struggle is prime for feeding, clothing, and providing travel and other luxury for those whom they have been employed by. Simply, a master wouldn't be a master unless others weren't accepting of self-enslavement.
Hey! good stuff mike! I need to get back on track! I agree @Dave Hashley, a job is not the only way out.
Excellent post Mike. Your advise is right on target.
we as human beings should try and ikhtiyar. only GOD Almighty. we as humans have to cut corners in any aspect. I want to get free from your banus. I really like your vidio. vidio you describe your life. I strongly agree vidionya.
I wholeheartedly agree with Mike's message stated in the video and written content. The belief pattern for some and many who I know personally have this incorrect mindset about money. How can one continue to serve in any capacity if they are not living well for lack of money to buy the essentials they need to live on, such as food, shelter, etc., etc… Money, like the air we breathe… is very important! Change your thinking, change your life! Be a master of a business you resonate with and feel great knowing that you are building something substantial for your family and future. Don't continue to rely on the system to sustain your way of living after retirement. Always be thinking ahead by planning on a residual income of some kind. Now is the time to prepare, do not become complacent… And, last but not least be mindful of the people you choose to associate with for that will have a bearing on whether you live an ordinary or extraordinary life, in this lifetime.
If only I had heard these kinds of thoughts 40 years ago! I want to shout this from the rooftops! Unfortunately, in conservative circles, it has been taught that "wealth" is not something to be sought after…..but they were really not being honest…even with themselves.
My no.1 takeaway from Mike's video is that all three values of family, spirtual and money are all one and connected without one of these three life is not complete or enjoyable in my opinion and now I can explain these qualities to my daughters and give them a better understanding of the unity of the three. Life is about balance. Its like playing basketball or football, you can't be good at one thing and expect to be successful. You will not have a flourishing career if your a great shooter but can't play defense. You will not gain confidence from your teammates and coach if your fast but you can't catch the ball. That is how life is. If you want to live a complete, worry free, stress free, family oriented life you must have the time to spend with your family. You must have the time to reflect on oneself and exercise your mind, body and spirit. To that, especially with a family, you must have the money for support. But if you have to work 12 hours a day to obtain the necessary amount of money to take care of your expenses, than you cannot work on the other aspects of your life. This is the message of Empower Network, to bring Freedom to live life on your terms. Thanks Mike for the reality check.

Hit me like a Brick… Money IS Important, ’cause your brain has to know money IS Important to you, to help you acquire it… Thanks Mike, completely missed that fact… GOT IT Now !!!
Well put Mike, my #1 take on this is" Don't" be afraid to admit to yourself and others that money is important. As a child growing up in the church, I was taught that money was the fruit of all evil, but I knew in the back of my mind that it is very important to have in order to live in this world.
Hi Mike what you say would be better if you had ad this bible text; 1 Timothy 5:8 “But if any provide not for his own, and specially for those of his own house, he hath denied the faith, and is worse than an infidel.” So go redo that video LOL.
as i watch the video i was so overwhelmingly touch and encourage about the idea to have that kind of prosperity. I just want to be a part the only problem is I don't have laptop or computer. That is all. This is Emmanuel
Dueteronomy 8:18 "But thou shalt remember the LORD thy God: for it is he that giveth thee power to get wealth, that he may establish his covenant which he sware unto thy fathers, as it is this day."
