Would you hire you? I got an email this morning. I think you are going to get a lot of value from it, especially if you are struggling right now. Maybe you are in the same situation as this person.
“I joined you last year. I tried blogging and I was frustrated with it, so I haven’t done a single thing this year. Is it time for me to quit? I really am desperate. If I am not making money within the next month, I think I am going to have to throw in the towel.”
When you stop doing anything and go into freeze mode, you aren’t going to make any money.
This is exactly what has happened to this person.
Think of it this way… would you hire you?

Usually I have to pry out of people what actions they are doing. Typically it requires asking them some questions. It usually comes down to the fact that they aren’t taking the right actions, and they can be coached in how to improve.
In the email above, this person actually came out and said, “I haven’t done a single thing.”
Here is what I want you to ask yourself. Would you hire you?
Think about the logic of this statement: “You aren’t doing anything. It’s about time to quit.”
In the corporate world, if you had a job, you wouldn’t last a day with a quitting attitude. You wouldn’t have the option to quit. You would be fired!
Let's say you hate your job. If you said you were frustrated and sat down for the rest of the day, you would be fired on the spot!
Would You Hire You?
In a home based business, you need to treat yourself like you are an employee of your own business – in the beginning. Later, you will be able to outsource some of the work.
Would you hire you or would you fire yourself?
You shouldn’t get to the point that, hey, if I am not making money in 30 days, I am going to quit. If you aren’t doing anything in your business, you should be fired right now!
I don’t care if you are frustrated or not. You need to do the work that will make you money.
This is not criticism. This is counsel. Would you hire you?
Hopefully you will take this and apply it in your business and make a difference.
There is a learning curve to working online. You have to learn how to market effectively on the internet. You have to learn how to get people to the presentation of your company. When you can do these things, you can make money here.
You are going to hit road blocks. You are going to have frustrations. You are going to hit different things in your business that should hold you back and make you want to quit.
How many times have I wanted to quit? I wanted to quite every single day my first year because I wasn’t making it happen. I persevered. I knew I had to treat this like a real business.
When you have real business, usually, you have employees working for you. If you are the only person in your business right now, you are the only employee. You need to treat yourself as if you are hiring someone else to run your business.
Think about the actions you are taking right now…
Would you would hire you? If you said yes, then you are doing a good job.
If you would fire yourself, then you are not doing the actions you need to.
