Your From Email Address is Tip #2 of 5 in the Email Deliverability Series…
Your From Email Address
This tip is a simple one, but an important one. We are talking about your from email address that you send your emails from in your autoresponder.
A lot of people will just list their Gmail, Yahoo or MSN email as their “from” email address. Most people don’t realize this, but this from email address matters.
Most spammers use free accounts and generate a ton of them and spam the crap out of everybody. That is just one of the methods that spammers use.
It is important that your from email address is a domain name that you have bought. This is 100% unique to you and will help with your email deliverability.
Every tip that I give you is in your control. It is vitally important that you follow what I am telling you in this series, because you are being judged by these little tiny tweaks that I am telling you. Everything else is based on whatever service provider you are using, so make sure that you are doing the things that are in your control.
You buy a domain name. If you already own a domain, you can set up a free forwarding account.
You can call the domain support and ask how to set up a forwarded email address, or you can follow these easy directions…
Your From Email Address – Email Deliverability Tip 2 of 5
Let’s say you bought a domain from GoDaddy. At the top of the page, click on “my account.” Look for the email area. Find “email forwarding” and launch that. Now you “create forward.” You don’t need to create an email account, because you aren’t going to be checking this email account. You just want to create a forward. Name your email. (Name@domain.com) Forward that email name to whatever email you use.
Now, in all of your autoresponder services you will use this unique from email address. If anyone ever replies to your message, it will still go to your regular email account.
What if you purchased a domain and it is hosted on your hosting account using cPanel? It is really easy. Log into your cPanel and under the mail tab find “forwarders.” Click “add forwarder” and do the same thing: (Name@domain.com) and forward to your free email account. Your from email address is now unique. This is another thing you can do as a user to get better email deliverability.
Go create yourself a domain forwarder and use that in your auto responder services, even if you need to call the domain support services to get it set up.
