Home Parties – Are They Effective?

Visiting with my wife inspired me to write this blog post on home parties.

Last night my wife went to a Lia Sophia party.  (Lia Sophia is an MLM with jewelry.)

My wife has several friends in companies like Pampered Chef, Lia Sophia, etc.  MLM companies promote their products through home parties, and my wife enjoys purchasing the products and supporting her friends.

Home Parties – The Traditional Method

I was curious, so I asked my wife…

What were the results of the party?  How much did the consultant make?

My wife told me that six people were at the consultant’s home. The home party lasted about two hours, and the consultant made $175 in commissions.

That’s not too bad.  The consultant is doing well.  She works hard and is making $30K to $40K a year from that company doing home parties.

 

Home Parties – The Prosperity Team Way

Last night, while the consultant was doing a party in her home…

I was doing a hangout for two hours from my home.

I was doing exactly the same thing, except, I was in my room with a webcam.

You could see me, just like those in attendance at the other party saw the consultant.

Here is the difference:

I was able to connect with five other leaders simultaneously.  It was like having five leaders in my home telling the story.

The consultant had only herself to tell the story.

The consultant did a home meeting with six people in her living room.

I did a home meeting on webcam with 1200 people watching me in my room.  There is no possible way we could have fit 1200 people in my 2,000 square foot home.

The consultant made $175.

We made over $4000 yesterday.

Same amount of work, just a different company and a different method of doing the meeting.

The meeting is important.  You have to hold live events.  You need to be able to connect and convey your message to people.

Home Parties – Are They Effective?

This contrast surprised me.  Discussing these home parties with my wife was a good experience for me.

My wife loves jewelry, and she supports her friends, and it is all good.  The parties are fun, and I am very proud of the consultant for making $30K to $40K a year in an MLM with home parties, because honestly, that is hard.
