How do you use twitter? To be completely honest, Twitter is one of the easiest social networks to use. They only allow 140 characters on all your status updates, so that eliminates needing to come up with what to say. Most the time you have to cut back what you want to say!
Not only does Twitter limit the length of your status updates, they limit what the length of your profile is. Basically a super quick bio is all you can put in your Twitter account with a picture & website. So if you know how to upload a picture, write a less then 160 character bio, put a URL to your website, then you can figure out how to use twitter pretty dang quick.
Some of the added Twitter features that I really enjoy is being able to separate your followers into lists. This allows you to build a very big following and still be able to see what your close friends or Mentors are tweeting about in an easy way. Another feature they added recently is the ability to re-tweet other peoples tweets with a push of a button vs. having to write it out.
So that leads me to the question…
How do you use twitter in your business? I actually stopped using twitter for more then 4 or 5 months because it really got too time consuming adding 500-1000 friends every single day, tweeting 8-10 times a day and also interacting and answering peoples questions every day. It felt like I as on Twitter all day long and getting nothing else done. Twitter can be a great way to make money but it is not great to make it your only priority all day long. I was finally able to find some tools which helped me automate the adding of friends, un-following friends & sending tweets for me. All I had to do is log in for 20 minutes of interacting with 10-20 people, answer questions and provide feedback and take the rest of the day to do other tasks. So these tools helped me focus on what really matters in social media. Being Social! Not wasting all day on tasks that can be automated.
Here are my top 2 automation tools that I use for twitter:
#1 Social Oomph (Free) – This tool allows me to schedule tweets to go out for you automatically throughout the day so you don't have to keep logging multiple times a day to do another tweet. Very cool! It also allows you to send a DM(direct message to people who follow you, welcoming them to your world). It un-follows people automatically if they un-follow you. This is one of those tool you just have to have or you will spend all day on twitter.
#2 Twitter Friend Adder ($50 one-time fee) – I can't tell you how much this tool has saved me in time wasted. I literally quit using twitter because it was taking up so much time adding friends everyday. Then this tool came along and I ended up buying it to try it out. This does it all! It will follow targeted people who type in certain keywords. It will follow anybodies followers or following all on autopilot. You set it for how many you want to follow, set the time delay, and let it run in the background. (Warning) Only follow about 10% of your current followers list. That way twitter won't shut you down. You can get away with doing 100 per day till you get to about 2,000 then you can move up to 200 per day and so on. The tool will also un-follow people that are not following you in the background as well (great for the people that can't use Twitter Karma anymore).
Those 2 tools are essential if you are deciding to use twitter for your business. Without them it's like trying to hit a Home Run with a Styrofoam bat.
Learn how I use twitter and have built a following of over 20,000 followers and growing, bring massive amounts of traffic to my website with each tweet, and constantly building new relationships that lead to new business partners on a daily basis by putting in your name, email, and phone on the top right of this page.
Make it a great day!
