There are a lot of ways to market your business online or offline but one of my favorite ways is Post It Notes!  Yes simply sticking these things all over town or in books you see at the book store.  Here are the steps to get this simple marketing in place:

  1. Buy some post it notes (super sticky)
  2. Create a “self inking rubber stamp”
  3. Post your “mobile classified ad” on your post it note.
  4. Short ad that “pops” with your web link and phone number.
  5. Stick all over the place as you’re doing your thing in town.
  6. Driver side windows in parking lots, ATM machines, Movie Rental Vending Machines, inside books etc..

A post it note is easy. ANYONE can do this.
You don’t “go out to market”… but as you’re out doing your thing anyway, you market while you’re out.

Let the ad do the work.
Ad drives them out of curiosity to call your number or visit your site.

A phone number is better because when they find the ad, they will have their cell phone with them for a fast and direct response… if they find your voice mail interesting, they will visit your site.

Have your voicemail simply almost just repeat your ad and direct them to your website for more information or to leave THEIR contact info for your call back…

  3. It’s a great idea, but I tried it last year and it didn’t work (I distributed hundreds of them with no response). So I am wondering if it works better in some regions than others. Anyone tried it and got a good result?

    • Hey Kim,

      Thanks for the feedback. With any marketing method it takes consistency to make it work. Using this method doing it daily has worked with a few of my team members getting them 1 or 2 signups per month… But I don’t think it should be your main focus. Just another tool to put in the tool box to place some ads around town while you are out…

      Another factor could be the voicemail message or offer. So there is a lot of factors on why one would convert an others wont. I think the most important part is having a voicemail number so people can call it right away when they pick up the post it note…

    • Kim, this is a great question because I believe it does matter where you are trying this. My town of 2500 people would obviously scoff at me, thinking ‘she knows me already, why doesn’t she just put an ad in the newspaper or just ask?’ Also, we only have one grocery store, one convenience store, and one hardware store here. For some reason I think the managers (my mom is the mgr of the grocery store) of each of these places would be a little perturbed. LOL! Great question, Juli

    Post it notes are great. I use them along with car magnets. I live in the Bay Area in California; as you probably know it is a highly populated area and these simple tools do work very well.
    However, half of the calls coming from tire kickers who want to get rich kick fast. And as we all know network marketing is not about that at all.
