What it DOES vs What it IS
I am coming at you from Orlando, Florida today. I have a very powerful lesson and action step for you to take today, so I want to you read to the very end and take action. I know that when you do, you are going to have a massive breakthrough.
Maybe you’ve been struggling to get people to sign up in your business. Maybe you’ve been doing some marketing out there and it isn’t as effective as it could be.
Listen to this concept…
It is not what it is, it is what it does!
When promoting your product or service, you need to talk about what it does vs what it is. For example: Sometimes when you are building your home based business you may have some kind of bonus. Here is what a lot of marketers say…
“Hey, if you join my team, you are going to get access to my exclusive Facebook group.
You’re going to be able to come to my company events. You will get my team training site.”
They go on and on about what it IS.
What it DOES vs What it IS
Concentrate your efforts on what it does vs what it is. The effective marketers market what it DOES.
For example, one of my buddies, Ray, says:
“You get access to my private, international mastermind where you can come together, ask questions and get support.
We will be there interacting with the group and you can do this 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.”
He doesn't even mention Facebook. He is talking about what it does.
Another thing that people will do is they will say:
“Hey, I just earned a $1000 commission today.”
(I’ve been guilty of mentioning ‘I just made a sale’ myself.) That is what it IS. It is not what it DOES. When we talk about making money, we need to share with our audience what it does vs what it is!
Here is my action assignment. Let’s say that you made $1000 today. What would that DO for you versus just saying what it is?
Comment below with what $1000 would DO for you.
Here is a hypothetical example. Let’s say I made $1000 today. Let’s say I was driving to work and my car broke down and it cost me $800 to get it fixed. So, a hypothetical story could be…
“Hey, I was on my work today and my car broke down. I had an unexpected bill for $800 to get the car fixed. I opened up my phone and I saw a $1000 commission come in. So, I was able to pay for this unexpected expense because of this company, because of what we are building here. This is what I call true freedom.”
Now, write your example below. What would $1000 do for you?
What this is going to do is give other people ideas on how they can market more effectively. Your answer could help someone!
If you follow this concept and think of everything you are doing… team training sites, Facebook Groups, the Money you make and think about what it DOES for people and sell THAT, you are going to get way better results.
